This drug mainly contains salmaterol and fluticasone. Fluticasone (steroid) it can prevent release of substance (inflammatory mediators) which is responsible for the inflammation. Salmaterol is a potent bronchodilator; the mechanism of action of this is by repolarization (relaxing) of the muscle of the airways to decrease breathing problems such as (asthma). Advair mainly used in asthma, COPD (common obstructive pulmonary disease).

Information about Advair:

Salmaterol increases the death due to asthma; the prescribed amount of Advair is taken for its exact therapeutic action without any side effects. And it does not to be used more than the time that doctor prescribes. Usage of steroids for longer periods can lead to bone loss (osteoporosis), mainly in the conditions like smoking, lack of exercise, and fewer vitamins in your body. It can also affect the growth of a child.

Dosing pattern of Advair:

Adult dose

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD):

 Powder inhalation drug:

Inhale Advair (250mcg-50mcg) two times a day, between there should be a time interval of 12hrs.high doses can be avoided.

Inhalation through aerosol container:

Two inhalations everyday

Range: two inhalations of about 45mcg-21mcg two times a day based on the patient’s condition and the severity of the disease. The maximum amount of two inhalations is about 230-21mcg two times a day.

Children dose:

4-11yrs:

Powdered drug:

In the patients who are having asthmatic symptoms:

1-time inhalation of about (100-50mcg) two times a day, between there should be at least 12hrs of time.

Above 12yrs:

1-time inhalation two times a day, between there should be at least 12hrs of time.

Range: one inhalation (100-50mcg) two times a day. The maximum amount of one inhalation is about (500-50mcg) two times a day. These dose ranges are based on the severity of asthma in a person.
