Alprazolam is a drug which is used to the anxiety. And also used to treat the disorders of panic caused by depression.

Information about alprazolam:

It is should not use in the conditions of glaucoma, it is also not recommended for pregnant. This drug can pass into breast milk cause defects and life-threatening symptoms in the child.

Alprazolam can also cause addiction; misuse can cause overdose and death. Alcohol should be avoided at the time taking alprazolam because the side-effects can be increased,

Dosage pattern of Alprazolam:

Adult dose

For anxiety:

Tablet: the drug is about 0.25-0.5mg per 3 times a day.

Max dose is 4mg

Uses: relief of symptoms of anxiety for shorter periods.

For panic disorder:

The drug is about 0.5mg administered orally for 3 times a day.

Sustained or extended-release tablets:

The drug is about 0.5-1mg orally once in a day.

 

Geriatric dose:

Tablet: the drug is about 0.25-0.5mg per 2- 3 times a day

Uses: relief of symptoms of anxiety for shorter periods.

For panic disorder:

The drug is about 0.5mg administered orally for 3 times a day.

The drug is about 0.5-1mg orally once in a day.
