Atorvastatin is the drugs called HMG coA reductase or statins. It can reduces the level low density lipoprotein or LDL and triglycerides in blood, while increase the good cholesterol (high density lipoprotein).

It mainly used to treat the high cholesterol, and lowers the risk of heart complications in the people with type-2 Diabetes.

Information about the atorvastatin:

The women should not be taken if they are pregnant and breast-feeding, or if any liver diseases. The interaction may occur if the medications along with the atorvastatin, in rare cases it can cause kidney failure; seek emergency medical help if a you have felt any fever, muscle pain, and a colored urine. Avoid eating foods which contain high fat.

Maintenance dose: it is about 10-80mg to be taken orally once a day.

Use: it is mainly used in coronary heart disease

It is also used in type-2 diabetes

Hypertriglyceridemia:
