Morphine belongs to the opioids, and opioids can also called narcotics.

It is mainly used to treat moderate and severe pain. The extended release form of medicine is for all around the clock treatment of pain.

Information about Morphine:

It can slow or stop your breathing, never use these medicines in large amounts or for longer periods, do not crush or break the extended-release tablets because the stability of it gets lost.

it is a habit forming drug. It can be used as the exactly how the doctor has prescribed, directions written on the prescription label should be followed by the patient. Oral dose: it is about 2.5-10mg for every 3-6hrs as directed by the physician.

Tablets: 2-4mg to be taken orally for every 4-6hrs

A gradual increase in dose may require in the conditions of analgesia is inadequate or if the pain severity increases. Patients with the renal and hepatic impairment can start on a lower starting dose.
