The main ingredient of Dolo-Neurobion Forte is ACETAMINOPHEN.


The main and most important ingredient of Dolo-Neurobion Forte is Acetaminophen, acts as an analgesic and antipyretic. In fact, it shows the effects of Analgesic and antipyretic. Its effectiveness is same as Salicylates show, except effects like anti-inflammatory, anti-platelet and gastric ulcerative are not shown. Generally, Acetaminophen is used for getting a relief from fever, pains and aches (as temporary). There are many kinds of medicines (of cold and flu mainly) where Acetaminophen is a main ingredient. It is used and mostly needed for the metabolism of carbohydrates. It is used as a dietary supplement preventing thiamine deficiency in the patient. Deficiency of thiamine causes Beri-Beri, Korsakoff’s deficiency. It is both available in injection or as Oral tablets. Thiamine is available richly in whole grains, meat and fish.

Side effects caused by intake of thiamine are very few and mild.

CYANOCOBALAMINE is one among the water-soluble vitamins, having the effect of high biological activity. It is necessarily used for promoting maturation of erythrocytes (normal haematopoiesis). It is included in the process of hydrogen transport, transmethylation, nucleic acids, creatine, synthesis of Methionine, choline. It also activates the coagulation of blood in high doses of medicine given to patients causing an increase in the activity of thromboplastin and prothrombin. It is effective in contributing to the accumulation in erythrocytes of the compounds with sulfhydryl groups. The major effectiveness of cyanocobalamine (Vitamin B12) lies in the functioning of liver and the nervous system.

Generally, Vitamin B12 is used for simple to severe Anaemia conditions. Mostly used in Post-hemorrhagic anaemia, aplastic anaemia (caused by using drugs and toxic substances), liver diseases like cirrhosis, hepatitis, children cerebral palsy, Funicular Myelosis, Neuralgia, polyneuritis, Down syndrome, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, peripheral nerve injury. Skin diseases (like psoriasis, neurodermatitis, photo dermatosis, herpetiformis). It is available and also taken as injections SC, IV, IM, Oral & intralumbar.

The rare and mild side effects of cyanocobalamine include :-

  • Cardiovascular diseases like Tachycardia.

It is also contraindicative to erythremia, thromboembolism, erythrocytes, sensitivity to cyanocobalamine. When cyanocobalamine is taken in combination with hormonal contraceptives it may decrease the concentration of cyanocobalamine in plasma. Hence, it is contraindicative to hormonal contraceptives, Anticonvulsant drugs, Neomycin, Colchicine, Rantidine, Aminosalicylic acid, Chloramphenicol.

Now let us know about the last ingredient of Dolo-Neurobion Forte that is Pyridoxal Phosphate also known as Vitamin B6.

The chemical name of vitamin B6 is PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE. It is also one among the B-complex family group.

Pyridoxal phosphate is abbreviated as PLP. It acts as a Co-enzyme or as a Co-factor for elimination or replacement or transamination or decarboxylation or racemization and beta-group conversion. Vitamin B6 metabolises in liver.

PLP acts as a cofactor in biosynthesis of five important neurotransmitters. Namely, dopa mine, epinephrine, serotonin, norepinephrine and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). It is also involved in the synthesis of histamine.

The adverse side effects were always reported by supplements taken only but not by food sources. The over dosage of pyridoxine may result in painful and irreversible neurological problems. The side effects are pain and numbness. It is recommendable to consume in lower doses to avoid side effects.

Side effects of Dolo-Neurobion Forte include :-

  • Increase in sugar levels.
  • Coma.
  • CNS.
  • Deposition of calcium salts in tissues.
  • Gastrointestinal distress.
